Internet and All its Benefits in Teaching not only in some Skills, but all of them.

                                            


The reading for this week was one more time very attractive and helpful for me. I consider this article, very important because as everybody knows technology is almost in everywhere, and is becoming every time more useful and a great tool in people´s life. For instance, talking about teaching a foreign language the internet provides a variety of different activities and programs in which not only teachers but also students can take advantages to improve in the 4 skills ( speaking, listening, writing and reading) The use of internet has become an approach to second language or foreign language education. We can find a lot of information about anything, including of course education on the web. The article Expose specifically about all the materials and resources both, teachers and students can find and use for speaking and listening .

The article emphasizes that, by using internet teachers and learners can create meaningful interaction and communication. Indeed, communication can greatly enhance the language learning experience .
In the reading is mentioned a lot of ideas to put in practice the improvement of these two skills, speaking and listening as for example; students can have access to audios or videos files that transmit live broadcast .

 the article  exhibits diverse programs  to interactive audio communication activities on the internet. It is very accessible since there are a lot of that are available for free downloads.

To sum up, what I learned  in this valuable reading was that computers has a big influence about how teach teachers and how students learn and it says that the profession could be affected but that is not true because always will be necessary the methods and  principles to get the successful.

The Reading for this week was very attractive for me since expose the concern not only about how to get students to think in a critically way, but also about how we can help as a future teachers to make the students feel that interest and activate them with the purpose to help them to be able to conduct to analysis, draw accurate conclusions and at the same time express their thoughts when they asked.

In addition, something that really caught my attention when I was reading this article was that it mentioned a very important point of how human beings learns spontaneously when they try to deal with problems they worry .To clarify this point it said that people develop an intrinsic interest that refers to the behavior that is driven by internal rewards. In other words, involves performing an action an action because you enjoy it, not because you are trying to earn something; for instance, a grade or just to pass the exam.

 One phrase that really liked me about the author of the reading was “we should do less telling and more asking” because that means that as future teachers we have to take the time to teach to our students how to achieve this because we are there like a guide for them.

Another key point that the author made reference was the big important technology has as we already know. It said that using computers can be a great resource to help us to advance with the accomplishment relate with the objective about thinking critically.

To sum up, the definition of critical thinking is to acquire the ability to create, organize ideas, analyze facts, and defend opinions, evaluate arguments and solve problems, but we have to take into account that human beings are emotional and rational so, we as a future professors we  have the labor to be creative to active the student´s brain in order they can engage and express their ideas, for example, in a real situation and for that we have in our hands a great tool that is the computer that help us to be creative to catch the attention to the students since, not everybody learns the same way some people learns auditory and others visual

The first purpose about the article, of this week is to shows educators a different way to apply the internet in English Language Teaching (ELT). At the same time it make reference in how meaningful the use of technologies brings for learners and teachers. Adding ideas for the use of internet concepts when schools have insufficient or not access to it all.


The reading mentions something very crucial for me, because it says that thanks to the use of technologies, the learners increase the motivation, cut down the anxiety and develop the learner autonomy.


It is extremely essential, to make allusion to all the other benefits of using the internet has, for instance, it says that it can be used to facilitate analysis, to give advice, to inspire creative not only in students but with professors too, and also with communication, helping students to interact with real people thus, the learners can improve their accents pronunciation and learn new vocabulary; All of this due to the support of the great quantity of programs that exist in these days.


On the other hand, it makes reference in the reason about why the use of internet would not be effective in ELT, and it says that considering that around the world there are still people who have limit the internet access so, that will make very difficult to achieve.





To finish, let me tell you that I really enjoyed reading this article “Call me.. Maybe: a Framework for Integrating the Internet into ELT” I learned a lot of about the importance of why consider internet integration in education being aware of the disadvantages.

Podcasting the Innovate Method to Improve Listening Strategies Courses.

This article was very interesting and important for me because give a variety of insights that we can use as a future educators in listening courses. It mentions that even though, CALL is used to supplement instruction or to provide additional practice to the students, Podcasting is a collection of files (usually a video and audio).This is   a new method in which nowadays is seen as a potential resource for all the professors thus, helping students as an extra practice not only in classroom but also in their houses.
The reading remarks that although, in these days technology is everywhere; there are many people who have problems with the lack of support or contact with the computer technology. According to what I read before there was a disconnection between what students were doing with CALL and about what they were doing in the previous classes so, due to this the article make inference in all the benefits and advantages that using a podcasting has .

Something very relevant for me about The second article Blending Technologies in ESL course:  was that technology is becoming one of the best partner of education. But we as a teachers have the responsibility to make a good use of this blend in our class with our students. That´s why the use the podcast inside and outside the classroom is very useful to improve not only the listening skill but the vocabulary and pronunciation.
